Significance of Chaturthi
Bhadrapada Shukla Chaturthi is Ganesh Chaturthi, the ten-day festival that ends on Anant Chaturdashi.
Chaturthi is a Rikta ('empty') tithi, so astrologers usually avoid it for auspicious beginnings, although it is ideal for removing obstacles.
Sankashti Chaturthi is observed on the day Chaturthi prevails at moonrise, and the fast is broken after seeing the moon. When it falls on a Tuesday it is called Angaraki Chaturthi.
